My current researches are focused on the development of analytical methods and their applications for lipidomics/metabolomics research. The analytical methods are based on HPLC and GC separations coupled with different detectors (mainly MS detectors) to provide both quantitative and qualitative analysis. I am also interested in novel sample preparation techniques (e.g., microwave technology) to provide opportunities for high though-put analysis.

Current research projects

    a) Analytical platform for metabolome analysis of yeast cell factories

    Development of novel analytical methods for targeted and untargeted analysis of yeast samples e.g, polar, non-polar metabolites, lipids & fatty acids, or specific products e.g., biofuel or biochemical compounds that are produced during the development process of yeast cell factories

    b) Biovacsafe project ( EU project

    A 5 years project (from 2012) for the development of the cutting edge tool with the aims to speed up and improve the testing and monitoring of vaccine safety, both before and released to market.
    - Responsible for metabolome analysis (untargeted analysis of human serum by LC-qTOF)

    c) Advanced Immunization Technologies (ADITEC

    A 5 years project (From 2011) funded by the EU7th Framework, a collaborative program with the aims to develop a novel and powerful immunization technologies for the next generation of human vaccine
    - Responsible for metabolomes analysis (untargeted analysis of mouse serum by LC-qTOF)
